Kings and priests favored this gemstone the most and saw in the sapphire a token for wisdom and purity. In earlier times it was also used to increase the power from Venus, banishing evil thoughts. It is a reflection of constancy, and blesses its owner with clairvoyance, interpretation and insight. The word sapphire is derived from the Greek word, “sapheiros”, “means “precious stone”. ![]() This mysterious, abyssal depth of blue symbolizes heavenly grace and ancient Persian civilizations thought of the world set in front of a giant sapphire during the night sky. The deep blue color is most associated with this stone and was one of the most popular among Christians in earlier biblical times. The Sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September. ![]()
